An apparition or new found wisdom?

So…….I was on the Twitter earlier today. A useful social media site for all things political. Social media is something I usually avoid like the bubonic plague BUT what is good enough for rothpol is good enough for rothpolt2. Search for Rothplot2 on Twitter!

Whilst scrolling through I saw a tweet through the #rotherhamiswonderful hashtag which stated that the Conservative candidate for Hellaby applied to join the Labour party eighteen months ago but was rejected by the party? Hummm……..this requires more questioning. Below is the tweet:

Having a look at the nominations list, this candidate appears to be Omar Mehban. Questions to be asked are as follows:

  1. Was Mr Mehban a member of the Conservative Party whilst applying to join the Labour party?
  2. Was he a member of another party whilst applying to join the labour party?
  3. Was he not a member of any party when he applied to the Labour party?
  4. How long has he been a member of the Conservative party?
  5. Why did they not let him join?
  6. For the sake of diffusing confusion, What does Mr mehban believe in? I.E. what are his political beliefs?

I remember Omar from when he first joined the Labour Party. Don’t exactly what happened but he left and joined the Monster raving looney Party. Then he got love struck with Respect but when they got kicked in the ballots he tried re joining the Labour Party but his application was rejected. He then joined the Tories ( who he hated ) and promptly got selected to stand as their Candidate for the Hellaby Ward.

No Malik, I had not heard of him before now. But reading your’s and Colin’s contributions it seems like Mr Mehban has ants in his pants as he appears not able to sit in one place. All of this is confusing for me so what is to stop Hellaby ward constituents from getting confused by this love of hopping. This all leads me to ask question number six to Mr Mehban in a fair manner and clarification:

    6. For the sake of diffusing confusion, What does Mr Mehban believe in? I.E. what are his political beliefs?
